Ski Dubai in Mall of the Emirates (opened in December 2005) is the worlds third largest indoor ski slope, measuring 400 meters and using 6000 tons of snow. Ski Dubai has full capacity to accommodate 1500 guests.
Dubai Sunny Mountain Ski Dome (opening in 2006)
Dubai Sunny Mountain Skidome will be a gigantic indoor ski dome project , that will be part of the Attraction and Experience World of the mega tourism project,
Dubailand .
The Dubai Sunny Mountain Skidome provides a great family attraction, featuring a revolving ski slop, an artificial mountain range, an ice bridge, a cable lift, a snow maze, an ice slide, polar bears cold water-aquaria and special sound and light effects.
Golf in Dubai
Dubai is becoming the one of the world’s PREMIER GOLF DESTINATIONS with excellent weather condition and Top Class facilities . In the place where it hardly rains the golf courses are welcome splash of color in the desert. There are quite a few international standard golf courses around the city:
Jumeirah Golf Estate
The Jumeriah Golf Estate is scheduled to open in 2007 - 4 18-hole Championship Golf Courses will be built around a gated residential community, designed around elements of Earth, Fire, Air and Water. Greg Norman has designed the Fire and Earth courses and Vijay Sing will design the Water course.
Dubai Country Club
Dubai Country Club was the first 9 holes course opened 1971 in Dubai . It is a sand course so there is rather “Browns instead of Greens.” Later, they opened a new 18 holes sand course in Al Awir .
The players are carrying the artificial turf with them and use it to play off when on fairways.
Emirates Golf Club
It has two courses: The Majlis and The Wadi (The Wadi is under re-construction at the moment). It has a club house shaped as Bedouin Tents.
Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa
On this golf course 9 first holes are surrounded by exotic trees and players are companied by peacocks and large number of other birds. From 18 holes 5 are surrounded by salt water lakes.
Dubai Creek Golf Club
Located in Deira has at least 9 (PAR) course with floodlight. There is also the original Dubai Golf Acadamy with PGA qualified Instructors. The Club House is a shape of pillowing seils .
Al Badia Golf Resort
The center piece of Dubai Festival City. Designed around 11 lakes and was open just recently.Limited public play.
Montgomery’s Course
Located in the Emirate Hills Residential Estate. Designed by Colin Montgomery and Donald Murhead. It has the world’s largest green area which is in shape of UAE.

Desert Course
In Arabian Ranches is the newest course and was designed by Jack Nicklaus . The Club employs the Golf Plus System that uses GPS technology to inform the player extract distance from the cart to the green .
Dubai Golf CIty
The world’s largest single based Golf Estate development. 5 World Class-themed signature Golf Courses will be opening 2009 in Dubai Land.
The Dubai Sports City is mixed use sports city worth nearly and covering 50,000,000 square feet currently being constructed in Dubai, UAE. The city will have several sports facilities and many types of residential buildings. The primary structures opened by late 2007. Dubai properties is the master developer of this project for infrastructure. The project is expected to be complete in 2011. This place is definitely a must see which should be included in Dubai tours during your visit to Dubai. It is a superb Dubai attraction with crowds of people visiting it all the year round.
The Dubai sports city will have a 25000 seat cricket ground, a 10,000 seat indoor arena, a 5000 seat field hockey stadium,a multipurpose outdoor stadium etc. The main sports structure will be the 60,000 seat and will be used for athletics and possibly rugby union, football and cricket. The stadium will also be a base to the WorldHockey Academy and UAE hockey academy. The Hockey Stadium which is located in the Dubai Sports City Academy’s Campus has world-class facilities for local enthusiasts and international athletes. The World Hockey Academy is unique of its kind and the first such facility in the whole world. The WorldHockey Academy by means of a partnership between International Hockey Federation and Dubai Sports City will provide coaching at the highest professional level. Coaching will be given by great hockey coaches, many of whom have represented their countries in the international arena. The complex will also have an 18-hole golf course named the Dunes which will be the hub of a luxury residential community namely the Victory Heights. . The Pakistan Cricket Board signed 3 year agreement to hold ODIs at Dubai Sports City on September 25 2008.
Dubai Sports City will also have a world-class medical facility, including a rehabilitation and specialist sports medicine centre. This facility will also provide 24 hour emergency services as well as the main medical services for the entire development.
Set on 50 million square feet of land, Dubai Sports City is the world’s first purpose-built sports cityIt is set within the Dubailand development and will have the 4 magnificent stadiums as mentioned above. This superbly crafted sports city will host the first International Cricket Council’s (ICC) own Global Cricket Academy and the purpose-built Manchester United Soccer Schools facility in the world, a David Lloyd Tennis Academy and the first Butch Harmon School of Golf outside the United States. This place will also have an Olympic length swimming pool and a 3,000 square metre gymnasium.
Dubai Sports City will also be the center of all of the commercial and residential developments to take place in a purpose-built city. It will have world-class medical facilities, international schools, leisure opportunities and hotels and a lifestyle and well-being country club, namely the Next Generation Club. The main shopping place at Dubai Sports City will be a sports-themed retail mall that will have a leasing capacity of approximately 1.2 million square feet. This shopping place will also house several markets, boutiques, shops and retail plazas which are worth a visit during your travel to Dubai.
The golf course, sports academies and other facilities included in the first phase of Dubai Sports City, as well as the opening phase of the Victory Heights residential community, was completed by the end of 2007. The complete sports city will be completed by 2010.
